The Giant Backwards Clock
Reads Property Development proudly display this timepiece large clock originally built by a local artist named Tim Hunkin in 2008.
It spent around 7 years mounted on the side of the former Tobar Toy warehouse in Ellough, near Beccles which also happened to be a distribution centre for Hawkin’s Bazaar, whose bestselling item was a backwards clock.
To complete the look, they also installed a life-sized mannequin on top of the large clock styled with hi-vis workwear and safety helmet.
It was put up for sale with Durrants Auctions Rooms and we obtained the piece in April 2015 seeing it as a landmark for the Business Park but also Diss itself. The unique clock boasts 6 metres in diameter and weighs approximately a whopping 2 tonnes.
The clock has proudly sat in place since September 2015 and has recently had a good clean and a fresh lick of paint.
